Additionally, temporary files can eventually occupy several gigabytes of disk space, especially if the system is used intensively or has not been cleaned for a long time.
Improved system performance
Accumulated temporary files can slow down system performance, affect application startup times, and reduce overall responsiveness.
Elimination of errors after failed installations
Leftover files from unsuccessful installations or updates may cause conflicts and errors. Cleaning the temp folders helps prevent such issues.
Increased data security
Temporary files can contain fragments of documents, form data, or browser cache. Deleting them reduces the risk of accidental data exposure.
Press the Windows + R keys (this will open the "Run" dialog box).
Type:
shellCopy and paste:
%temp% and press Enter.
This will open the folder containing the user's temporary files.
Press Ctrl + A to select all files.
Press Shift + Delete to permanently delete them (or just Delete to move them to the Recycle Bin).
If any prompts appear about access being denied, choose "Skip" or "Skip all".
