Permissions in Teams workplace
By default, in Microsoft Teams, team members have broad permissions, which means they can perform many different actions, including modifying channels, deleting them, and editing or deleting their own and others' messages. However, these settings may be too liberal in some cases, especially if you need a more controlled work environment.
To adjust these permissions to meet the needs of the team, you can change them in the team settings. To do this:
Open Microsoft Teams https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app or teams.microsoft.com and select the team you want to manage.
Click on the three dots (...) next to the team name, and then select MANAGE TEAM
Adjust permission settings:
In the SETTINGS tab, you will find various options for managing the team. Go to the MEMBER PERMISSIONS section.
Here you can specify exactly what actions team members can perform. For example, you can:
Disable the ability for members to delete channels.
Restrict editing and deleting messages.
Block the creation of new channels or apps.
Limit access to other team features, such as renaming the team, adding apps, or managing team settings.
SAVE CHANGES
After adjusting the settings, make sure all changes have been saved. This way, the newly imposed restrictions will take effect immediately for all team members.
Additional information:
Adjusting member permissions is especially useful in large teams or situations where it is necessary to maintain order and structure. This will help avoid accidental deletion of important data or disorganization in communication channels.
Regularly reviewing and updating these settings will help maintain an appropriate level of control and security within the team, which is crucial for effective collaboration and project management.
