There are several ways to take a screenshot depending on your computer's operating system.

Screenshot on Windows

PrtScr Button

The easiest way to take a screenshot on Windows is the Print Screen (PrtScn) key. To capture the entire screen, press PrtScr in the upper right corner of the keyboard. The screenshot will be saved to the clipboard. To save the file, paste the screenshot using the Ctrl+V key combination into Paint and save the image in .jpg or .png format anywhere on your computer. This saved image should be added as an attachment to the email or submission.

Windows + Print Screen

To take and immediately save a screenshot, use the key combination Windows + PrtScr.

Your screen will dim, and the screenshot of the entire screen will be saved in the Pictures → Screenshots folder.

This saved image should be added as an attachment to the email or submission.

Snipping Tool

To run the Snipping Tool, type Snipping Tool in the Windows search bar. The search box is located on the taskbar in line with the start menu. Use the Mode button to adjust the snip, then click the New button; the screenshot will be taken automatically without selecting an area. Then simply save the image by choosing a convenient file location. This saved image should be added as an attachment to the email or submission.

Windows + Shift + S

The shortcut Windows + Shift + S allows you to take screenshots of the entire computer screen or part of it in Windows 10 and 11.

After pressing the Windows + Shift + S key combination, the screen will darken, and a bar will appear at the top where you should select the type of snip, which can be:

  • rectangular snip - drag the cursor around the object to create a rectangle.

  • freeform snip - outline the object in any shape.

  • full-screen snip - capture the entire screen.

The screenshot taken will automatically save to the clipboard. We can paste it into Paint and save it in .jpg or .png format anywhere on your computer. This saved image should be added as an attachment to the email or submission.

Screenshot on iOS

Command+Shift+3

This keyboard shortcut captures a screenshot of the entire screen. This way, you can quickly capture everything displayed on the desktop. After pressing the combination, the screenshot will appear on the desktop saved in .png format. This saved image should be added as an attachment to the email or submission.
