Embedding Views in Other Sites
Embedding views from the Bridge of knowledge portal in other websites
On the front page of the Bridge of knowledge portal, you can quickly search the informational resources grouped into categories: Publications, Journals, People, Inventions, Projects, etc. Selecting a specific category and then searching for information by the given phrase and/or narrowing down the data using filters (e.g., by organizational unit, academic degree) results in obtaining a specific view in the central part of the portal that displays records with information.
If needed, there is an option to embed a specific view of records from the Bridge of knowledge portal on another (any) website. On the site where the view is planned to be embedded, the webmaster should have editing access to the HTML code – to the <body> section.
Attention!
In the university CMS eKontakt, webmasters do not have free access to the <body> section in the HTML code; however, embedding a view from the Bridge of knowledge portal is just as straightforward as described in this instruction. Embedding a list view from the Bridge of knowledge portal within the eKontakt system is described in a dedicated instruction Embedding a list view from Bridge of knowledge (access to the instruction requires logging in).
Step-by-step instruction
To achieve the effect of embedding a view from the Bridge of knowledge portal on any website, follow the steps below:
Go to the Bridge Of Knowledge portal. Specify the range of records of interest, as needed – using a phrase in the search engine, indicating a data category, using a filter, etc.
After obtaining the desired view with records, locate and click on the </>embed button on the right side of the view, as shown in the illustration below.
A window will appear with detailed information on how to proceed further. The HTML code indicated in the second point of the displayed information is dynamic, i.e., its form may change depending on the type of information contained in the embedded view. Each time the embed option is called, it will indicate the current form of the code according to the specific data view on the Bridge of knowledge portal.
