🌐 Eduroam EN (Windows)
Instructions for connecting Windows devices to the eduroam wireless network.
Systems older than Windows 10 are not supported by us; however, the information contained here should be successfully usable for connection, provided that the operating system already supported the authentication methods used here.
Any Wi-Fi programs/applications pre-installed by hardware manufacturers significantly hinder connecting to the eduroam network, so we recommend using the mechanism built into Windows 10.
Step-by-step instructions
Configuring the eduroam network on a Windows computer is a two-step process. The first step requires the installation of the root certificate, while the second requires the installation of the user certificate and connection configuration.
Step one - installation of the root certificate
The above root certificate is essential!
Using a computer, go to this page (a detailed description of downloading and installing the root certificate can also be found on this page).
Locate the root certificate in CER/DER format and download it (save it).
Open the downloaded certificate (depending on the browser, it will appear on the bottom bar of the page or in the upper right corner of the screen as a "down arrow" icon). If you have trouble locating the downloaded file, check the Downloads folder or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+J.
Windows should display a warning about a threat - in this case, we agree to install the file and open it.
After opening the file, you will see a window with details of the downloaded certificate. Click Install Certificate.
In the subsequent steps of the installation wizard, select accordingly:
Current user and click Next.
Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse (in the image points 1 and 2)
select the second option, Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click OK (in the image points 3 and 4)
Click Next (in the image point 5)
A window will appear where you click Finish
Close the information Import was completed successfully by clicking OK
Close the certificate details window by clicking OK
Step two - connection configuration
Installation of the user certificate
Go to the Certificate Generator page.
By clicking Log In, we will be redirected to the Central Login Point, where you need to log in by providing your username (without the @pg.edu.pl or @student.pg.edu.pl) and password.
After logging in (or if we were already logged into Moja PG), a window will appear where you need to enter your password again and then click Generate Certificate.
A message will appear that the certificate has been generated; pay attention to the given validity period of the certificate (from day – to day). There will also be information that There is a previously generated certificate; in this case, remember that the downloaded certificate is secured with the password for Moja PG that was valid on the start date of the given validity period of the certificate.
Click Download Certificate
Open the downloaded certificate (depending on the browser, it will appear on the bottom bar of the page or in the upper right corner of the screen as a "down arrow" icon). If you have trouble locating the downloaded file, check the Downloads folder or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+J.
The certificate import wizard will open (similarly to the case of the root certificate).
Choose the storage location Current user and click Next
Leave the suggested file name unchanged, click Next
Enter the certificate password the same as for Moja PG (if the password does not work, the certificate is packed with one of the previous passwords used for Moja PG) and click Next
Leave the default setting Automatically select store... and click Next
Click Finish to complete the certificate import process
Close the information Import was completed successfully by clicking OK

18. Click Connect. After a moment, we should establish a connection to the network.
The configuration method using a certificate is more secure.
A connection configured this way will continue to work even after changing the password for Moja PG (until the certificate expires).
The user certificate is valid for one year from the moment of generation; after this time, a new certificate must be generated, and the saved eduroam network configuration must be modified to use the new certificate (usually, installing the new user certificate is sufficient).
If we already have a generated user certificate and less than a year has passed, filling out the form on the certificate download page will retrieve the existing certificate, packed with the password that was in effect at the time of its generation.
If the above instruction did not yield the expected results, you should restart your computer (restart, not shut down and turn on again, which means clicking on the icon Start → Power → Restart.)
After changing the password for the Moja PG portal, you need to modify the saved eduroam network configuration to use the new password.
Assistance in configuring the connection is only possible after making an independent attempt to configure the network based on the above instructions. The user should have both certificates downloaded to the computer (or at least the main certificate). When contacting the Helpdesk team, remember to bring your power supply with you!
