Instructions for connecting Android devices to the eduroam wireless network.

Info
titleInfo

Using the eduroam network requires an active account on the Moja PG portal (access is possible using the same login data as the Moja PG portal), the network is available to employees, PhD students and students.

Step-by-step instruction

Info

Below are two possible methods of connecting to the eduroam network - just select one of them (for security reasons, we suggest a method using a user certificate).

Option with user certificate

  1. Access this page using your mobile device

  2. Fill the form on the website and click Generate certificate

  3. After submitting the form, you will see information about your certificate - remember its expiry date

  4. Click the Download Certificate button

  5. The downloaded certificate should open automatically - enter the password to extract the certificate (Moja PG password)

  6. Give a friendly name to the certificate, e.g. PG20210805 (where 20210805 is the certificate expiry date)

  7. Set the logon data destination to: Wi-Fi and click OK

  8. The device will display information that the root certificate has been successfully installed

  9. Make sure that the wireless network is turned on on your device (expand the top notification bar, where the appropriate icon is)

  10. Long press on the wireless icon to enter network settings

  11. On the list of available networks, find eduroam and select this network

  12. Go to advanced options

  13. Set the following parameters:

  • EAP method: TLS

  • Certification Authority Certificate: Do not validate

  • User certificate: Select a previously installed certificate with a friendly name

  • Privacy: Use the MAC address of the device

  • Identity: enter your login to My to Moja PG along with the domain, e.g. s987654@student.pg.edu.pl / iminazwi@pg.edu.pl etc. (if you have multiple logins, start with the "shortened" one)

14. Click Connect / Save

Tip

The certificate configuration method is more secure. The connection configured in this way will also work after changing the password to Moja PG (until the certificate expires).

Note
titleNOTE

The user certificate is valid for one year from its generation, after that time a new certificate should be generated and the saved configuration of the eduroam network modified so that it uses the new certificate.

Info

If we already have a user certificate generated and not a year has passed, then by completing the form on the certificate download page, the existing certificate will be downloaded, packed with the password valid at the time of its generation.

Option with login and password

  1. Make sure that the wireless network is turned on on your device (expand the top notification bar, where the appropriate icon is)

  2. Long press on the wireless icon to enter network settings

  3. On the list of available networks, find eduroam - select this network

  4. Go to advanced options

  5. Set the following parameters:

  • EAP method: PEAP

  • Second phase authentication: MSCHAPV2

  • Certification Authority Certificate: Do not validate

  • Privacy: Use the MAC address of the device

  • Identity: enter your login to My to Moja PG along with the domain, e.g. s987654@student.pg.edu.pl / iminazwi@pg.edu.pl etc. (if you have multiple logins and you use e.g. name.name@pg.edu .pl, start with the "abbreviated" one)

  • Anonymous identity: repeat the login entered above

  • Password: enter your password for the Moja PG portal

6. Click Connect / Save

Note

After changing the password to the Moja PG portal, the saved configuration of the eduroam network should be modified so that it uses the new password.
