Mail application interface

The new student mail service is available from web browsers at outlook.office.com or https://www.office.com/?omkt=en-GB

In any modern web browser Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, Edge, or Internet Explorer 11 (older versions of IE may not be supported as they do not support most current technical standards), the interface will look almost identical. The ability to handle mail through a browser provides comprehensive mail accessibility, regardless of your device, operating system or installed applications.

Layout settings are available from the menu, a shortcut to which is located in the upper right corner of the screen under the toothed icon (right next to the initials).

In Outlook mail it is possible to mark messages. This is done by assigning a color (category) or also a corresponding flag. The following illustration shows an example of selectable categories, from this position we can also mark multiple messages at once:

While in the message preview, we can also tag a message individually.

To create a new message, click on the New Message option, as shown in the following figure.

The window for creating a new message is similar to analogous windows in other email programs:

We can also switch freely between messages and then quickly return to writing thanks to the tabs at the bottom of the window for creating a new message.

For the convenience of sending e-mails, the student mail system uses a global user directory. This directory contains the e-mail addresses of all employees (@o365.pg.edu.pl) and students (@student.pg.edu.pl) of Gdansk University of Technology. When creating a new message, replying or forwarding a message, all you need to do is enter a snippet of the intended recipient's last name, address or first name in the To field to send them a message to the Microsoft service address. This will bring up a list of prompts from which to select the correct addressee.

All e-mail addresses stored in the directory are available when you enter the People item (two people icon). The addresses are sorted alphabetically. Details of a given contact are available by hovering over it with the mouse cursor and clicking on the desired item.

Users can also add (or import) their own contacts, as well as create lists with contacts.

Mail settings can be accessed by clicking on the toothed icon, right next to the user's profile picture (initials by default), located in the upper right corner of the screen.
In the Basic Settings section, you can change, among other things, the interface language, time zone settings, notifications, categories, etc.

Note: it is recommended that you proceed with caution when making changes to your system settings.
If you are unsure of the correctness of the change you are making, you are encouraged to contact with Helpdesk PG.
