SSL-VPN (VPN through browser)

The SSL-VPN application is available only to PG employees. To use the application, an active account in Moja PG is required. A student who is traveling at the request of a PG employee (e.g., lecturer, project supervisor, etc.) who collaborates with the student/doctoral candidate and supports the application for granting SSL-VPN access will receive access for the duration of the trip plus 5 days after returning to settle any outstanding matters.

We recommend using the latest versions of web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, or Edge. If necessary, you may use Internet Explorer 11. We discourage using older versions of IE, as they do not support modern technical standards.

Step-by-Step Instructions To use SSL-VPN, follow these steps:

Go to the website vpn.pg.edu.pl
Log in using your username and password (the same credentials as for the Moja PG portal)
- Polytechnic identifier – enter your login as used for the Moja PG portal: the login without the @pg.edu.pl domain, usually consisting of the first three letters of your first name and the first five letters of your last name.
- Password – the same as for the Moja PG portal.

Select one of the available services from the list.

Log in to the selected service.
- The default items in the central part of the window (Moja PG, Document Repository) are links to the most popular services accessed via the VPN connection.
- Click on the name of the service to browse it in VPN mode.

While using any IT service through SSL-VPN, an element with the following appearance will be displayed at the top of the window.

This element consists of three parts:

Option to switch the location of the element: Move it to the right or left edge of the screen in case it obstructs an important part of the IT system in use.
Return to the SSL-VPN service panel.
End the VPN connection.

You can switch to another application at any time by clicking the "politechnic flag" in the upper right corner of the page, which will reopen the list of available applications.

To end your session, follow these steps:

Log out of the application you are using (e.g., Moja PG).
In the upper left corner of the page, find the exit icon (Sign Out) and click it.
- If you do not see the described icon, click the exit icon in the upper right corner.

Note: If you did not log out correctly during the previous use of SSL-VPN, you will see a message about an ongoing session the next time you log in. You can safely click the continue button and connect to the existing session. Remember to log out correctly after finishing your work.

IN CASE OF THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:

Warning: The number of simultaneous users logged into the system has exceeded the limit set in the system. Inform your system administrator. You can continue this session, but it may affect the system's performance.

This message indicates that the number of available SSL VPN licenses is currently exhausted. Please try again later. During grading periods, many people are logged in at the same time.
