Microsoft 365, formerly known as Office 365, is a collection of applications and services available from Microsoft servers.
Microsoft 365 is a cloud-powered productivity platform.

One of the advantages of the services available within o365 is that they operate through a web browser, making them easily accessible even without dedicated tools.

All current students and academic staff of Gdańsk University of Technology can access a free Microsoft Office 365 A1 license, which provides a set of online software that works on both desktop and mobile devices.

CUI (Center for IT Services) does not create dedicated accounts for external individuals to avoid potential risks related to access to overly broad organizational resources and unintentional violations of licensing rights.

To enable collaboration with individuals outside the organization, it is recommended to invite such a person to a Microsoft Teams team by providing their email address. The invited individual does not need to have an MS account. After sending the invitation, the person will receive an email with details about the invitation and a link allowing them to join the team.

Adding a new user to a Microsoft Teams team, even after Microsoft sends the welcome email, may take up to 24 hours. This time is necessary for the system to fully process the data and provide all features and resources for the new user.

This approach ensures safe and efficient collaboration while minimizing the risk of unauthorized access to the organization's internal resources.
The invited individual has full access within the team/group they were invited to.
They cannot create their own spaces but can upload files and perform similar actions within the team.

Access to the above-mentioned software is free of charge and requires registration. Its use is intended exclusively for educational purposes. The free license allows users to work only online through web browsers at https://www.office.com .
